Port Blair, Dec 10: Andaman and Nicobar Police today arrested a resident of Hutbay, Mr. Anup Kumar Sarkar, for reportedly killing his wife over a spat. The arrest was made after the accused came to Police Station Aberdeen and surrendered himself, after committing the crime.
According to details available here the Accused had come to Port Blair and checked in a local lodge at Babulane on 7th December 2018. The couple reportedly had a spat last night after which the accused reportedly strangled her with the help of a rope inside room number 212 or the said lodge.
The victim has been identified as Mrs. Sanjita Sarkar, 28 years, who originally hails from Shantanu area of Kadamtala, Middle Andaman.
Police is further investigating the matter and further details are awaited.
