Port Blair, Dec 10: After arrest of Diglipur’s Garment Shop-owner, Mr. Bapi Debanth, on the charges using fake ID of Anti-Corruption Police officers and duping public, the Andaman Shopkeeper Association of Diglipur has demanded proper search in all the premises of the accused at Diglipur. Mr. Bapi Debanth owns New Deepali Garment shop at Diglipur.
In a letter address to the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Diglipur region, the president, of Andaman Shopkeeper Association of Diglipur, AVA Samad today said that the executive committee of Andaman Shopkeeper Association of Diglipur, organised an executive body meeting yesterday where the committee has decided to request the police department to conduct a search at all the premises of the said shop owner at Diglipur.
According to the letter, the shopkeepers expressed serious concerns over the news published in mainland media that during the time of arrest, the accused was reportedly carrying a weapon with him.
