Mayabunder, Nov 25: On receipt of a complaint from Mr. Mohd. Ameen, Engineer, Group Engineer Company regarding burglary of 01 No. Battery and 04 Nos. Brass Valve from his rented room situated at Panighat, Mayabunder on 22/11/2018, a Case vide FIR No. 214/18 dtd. 22/11/2018 U/s 454/380 IPC was registered at PS Mayabunder against unknown person and acting upon this SI Rakesh Singh SHO PS Mayabunder immediately constituted a team headed by himself , SI Regan Isaac, HC/947 Mohd. Hussain, HC/267 Mohd. Zakiriya, PC/2328 Alok Kumar Singh and PC/445 Anurag Singh and Swung into action.
During the investigation information through reliable source revealed that one person namely Danny Nair R/o. Webi, Mayabunder was seen near to the place of occurrence in suspicious condition. Upon which the team rushed to Webi village in search of above said suspect and apprehended him. In the meantime the team made effort to search the stolen properties and recovered 02 Nos. Brass Valve from the bushes adjacent to the back side of suspect Danny Nair‘s house. The said case properties were seized and the accused was arrested on the spot and brought to Police Station Mayabunder. On next day the accused was produced before the CJM Court Mayabunder and submitted request for 03 days PC remand to recover the rest of the case properties and for custodial interrogation. The Court has granted Police request of 03 days PC remand of accused person. The team thoroughly interrogated the accused and lastly he confessed that he had stolen 04 Nos. Brass valve and 01 No. Battery from the house of the complainant by breaking backside window. Out of which he had sold 01 No. Battery and 02 Nos. Brass Valve to one Scrap dealer at Danapur, Mayabunder and he hide rest of the items in bushes near his house. On questioning about the scrap dealer he said that he does not know the name of that scrap dealer, but he can identify him by face. Further he disclosed that whenever he was in need of money he used to steal house hold items and sold to the same scrap dealer. The accused further disclosed that 3 to 4 month ago, he had also stolen some house hold items from a house at Pokkadera, Mayabunder and sold to the same scrap dealer. Upon this Police team enquired about this incident from accused in detail and he confessed about stolen items and Police related it with another day burglary case registered in this Police Station earlier.
On the basis of the accused person’s confession the Police Team took him to the house of the scrap Dealer at Danapur on 24/11/18. On seeing the Police team the scrap dealer tried to run away from his house but the team chased the scrap dealer and apprehended him. In the meantime on identification of the accused Danny Nair, the Police team recovered 01 No. Battery, 02 Nos. Brass Valve Case properties of the instant case and also recovered 01 Intex Home Theater with 02 Speakers, 01 Electric Heater, 01 bundle Plastic Pipe (Green colour) and 01 Axe without Handle which was very similar to the stolen properties of Crime No. 163/18 dt 03/09/18 U/s 454/380 IPC of PS Mayabunder. The Scrap dealer namely Samim Uddin Haldar disclosed that he had purchased all the above said articles from Danny Nair on different occasions. All the said case properties were seized under cover of seizure Memo in presence of Independent witnesses. The Scrap dealer namely Samim Uddin Haldar S/o. Sarafat Haldar (19) yrs. R/o 24 Parganas , West Bengal presently residing at Danapur was arrested for involvement in both the cases for receiving stolen property on the Spot. Both the accused persons along with seized case properties were brought to Police Station for further investigation.
By the hard effort of Police team of PS Mayabunder headed by SI Rakesh Singh SHO PS Mayabunder and under the close supervision of Mr. Sukant S. Ballabh, SDPO Diglipur and overall supervision of Mr. Ingit Pratap Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District succeeded to crack down two different cases of burglary and recovered all the case properties. In these cases Police team solved the whole chain of burglary from theft to disposal of stolen properties. At present both the accused persons are in Judicial Custody.
