Port Blair, Nov 19: On 16/11/18 a written complaint was received at PS Diglipur from Mr. P Govindha Raj, Manager, R K Transport, informing that on 14/11/2018 on his trip to Diglipur he was staying at Thamizhar Snagam at Diglipur Bazar and at around 2100 hrs the complainant came out of his room without locking the door to take dinner.
After half an hour when the complainant returned to his room he found that his bag was opened and during scrutiny he found that an amount of Rs 14,500/- is stolen by someone.
One the basis of the above complaint a case was registered at PS Diglipur and a police team comprising of HC G. Uday Bhanu, PC D K Pandey and HG Gautham Halder under the command of Inspr. Mahesh Yadav, SHO PS Diglipur was setup to nab the accused person and after extreme search and various interrogations of a person namely Ratan Mondal S/o Mr. Purna Sashi Mondal (30) Yrs R/o D B Gram, Diglipur was apprehended and during the interrogation he confessed his guilt and accordingly he was arrested from Madhupur on 16/11/2018 at 1730 hrs and recovered the stolen money of Rs 13710/- from his possession. The whole operation was successfully carried out under the close supervision of Mr. Sukant S Ballabh, SDPO Diglipur. In earlier instance the accused person was involved in burglary case of Diglipur vide case No. 38/17U/s 457/380 IPC. He was realised on bail by Mayabunder Court on 9/11/2018. Just within a week he again committed night burglary at Diglipur.
