Port Blair, Oct 31: Mr. Sanjib Kumar Mandal, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman has appraised Mrs. Ankita Mishra Bundela, Commissioner cum Secretary (Shipping), A & N Administration about deployment of inadequate capacity of vehicle ferry services in between Chattam and Dunduspoint Jetty considering large number of commuters. It is pertinent to mention here that local inhabitants as well as tourists are quite dependent on aforesaid vehicle ferry service and it plays a vital role in promotion of tourism.
The SAZP Adhyaksh has urged for deployment of enhanced capacity of vehicle ferry and increase in Roll on and Roll off services to 05 instead of prevailing 03 voyages in between Chattam and Dunduspoint Jetty in the interest of general public and tourists.
