Port Blair, Oct 30: The School of Social Work, IGNOU, New Delhi and Regional Centre Port Blair is jointly organizing a “Workshop on Fieldwork Practicum of Social Work Programmes” on 13-14 November, 2018 at the IGNOU Regional Centre premises.
The academic counsellors, students of MSW/BSW and various functionaries of Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) will be participating in the workshop. All the participants will be provided with participation certificate by IGNOU. Dr. Rose Nembiakkim, Director and Dr. Saumya, faculty member from School of Social Work, IGNOU, HQ will be the resource persons for the workshop.
The workshop is intended to equip all the professionals in the field of Social Work and Development so as to gain meaningful employment in the development sector. An important aspect of the social work profession and education is the development of the professional self; which reflects and personality in the professional practice. Dealing with human beings and their problems is often a demanding task both physically and emotionally, which involves decisions which have to be ethically sound at the same time acceptable to many. Therefore, this workshop inculcates the practice of social work methods required by the professionals in developing a high degree of self awareness, a high degree of understanding their own behaviours and its impact on others. We all know that the world is facing lots of natural calamities bringing miseries to all living beings. In this context, to mitigate the disasters across the globe, the IGNOU Regional Centre Port Blair invites all interested individuals to take part in this workshop to transpire their concerns and ideas and to make it useful for the society.
