Port Blair, Oct 12: The pathetic condition of Andaman Trunk Road is causing serious problems to public of these Islands on daily basis. According to sources two ATR buses today suffered major breakdown in Baratang’s Adazig and Gandhighat Jetty region due to bad roads.
In first instance, a private bus, Anand suffered steering fail near Adajig village of Baratang Island at around 02.45 PM. There were 35 to 40 passengers inside the bus at the time. The bus was going towards Diglipur from Port Blair.
In second instance, private bus of SS Transport, which was coming towards Port Blair from Diglipur suffered technical snag at Gandhi Ghat Jetty area at around 1.40 PM. There were 35 to 40 passengers inside the bus when this breakdown was reported, who were later adjusted in SST’s Rangat Bus and one more private bus.
