Mayabunder, July 20: In a shocking incident a student of Mahatma Gandhi Government College, Mayabunder reportedly suffered paralysis yesterday night, all of a sudden. According to reports the girl, who actually belong to Hut Bay, had purchased some medicines for toothache from Mayabunder Bazaar on Wednesday and after having the medicines, she complained throat pain.
The girl, who was in her MGGC hostel room, was then taken to Mayabunder Hospital on Friday and given medication. But by Friday evening her condition worsened. According to reports, the girl was neither able to move any body part nor was able to talk. She was immediately rushed to Mayabunder Hospital from where she has been referred to G B Pant Hospital. It is expected that the girl will be brought to Port Blair tomorrow by ATR.
The matter has become talk of the town in Mayabunder and different theories and stories are coming up regarding this incident. Some believe that this happened due to some supernatural power while some others believe that this happened because of side affect of medicines.
However, talking to Andaman Sheekha the Medical Superintendent of Mayabunder Hospital, Dr. Shammi maintained that the girl did not suffer paralysis. “She is unable to speak. She was also having problem in urination but later we removed urine with tube. At present the condition of the patient is stable but she is having low fever,” Dr. Shammi added.
When asked about the actual reasons behind this incident, the Doctor refused to comment anything else. “You can report this incident but I won’t comment anything further. After publication of news I will give reply if required,” the MS added.
