Port Blair, Oct 04: BJP candidate, Mr. P. Srinivas Rao, Zilla Parishad Member of Diglipur constituency has been elected as Adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad today during a special meeting organized at Zilla Parishad office of Mayabunder, North Andaman.
According to reports out of total 17 votes, Mr. P. Srinivas Rao got 10 whereas his opponent Mr. Manoj Paul, Zilla Parishad Member (Independent) got only three votes while four Zilla Parisahd Member of Indian National Congress staged walk out.
The meeting for the election of Adhyaksh and Up-Adhyaksh for the 4th year term of Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman was conducted by Mr. Awanish Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman District, Mayabunder at 10.00 AM.
During the same meeting Mr. Anil Bepari, Zilla Parishad Member, Urmilapur constituency (INC candidate) has been elected as unopposed as Up-Adhyaksh of North & Middle Andaman, Zilla Parishad.
The Deputy Commissioner, District of North & Middle Andaman will administer oath of office to the newly elected Adhyaksh and Up-Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad, North & Middle Andaman for the 04th year term commencing from 11.10.2018 at Zilla Parishad Community Hall, Mayabunder on 10.10.2018 at 11.00 AM.
Meanwhile, the meeting for the election of Adhyaksh and Up-Adhyaksh for the 4th year term of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman will be held at Port Blair on 8th October 2018.
Entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands are divided into two Zilla Parishad Constituencies viz North & Middle Andaman ZP and South Andaman ZP.
