Port Blair, Sept 25: Dr Hemant Pande a National co-convener of VVM Examination said that Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan is Unique National Level Multi Stage Evaluation –cum Training Programme for Science talent search with the main objective as promotion of science among school children., during a meet with Science teachers from 16 different schools in Port Blair.
Under Department of Science and Technology, government of India’s autonomous body “Vigyan Prasar”, NCERT Govt of India are conducting this programme in association with Vigyan Bharati, a nonprofit organization working at national level. Other government agencies like CBSE, Navoday Vidyalaya samite and Central schools etc are also supporting this unique talent search programme in a big way.
He also mentioned that besides regular NCERT syllabus of respective classes from 6th to 11 standard, considerable quantum of contents on the contribution of India to the world of Science and logic and reasoning are highlight of this programme. The written material for Indian contribution for science, life stories of Dr. Meghnath Saha and Srinivasa Ramanujan has been made available on our website. The scientific aptitude of the students would also be tested through various activity based testing methods at the subsequent state and national level camps. Students from sixth to eleven standard are eligible to appear in this programme which will be conducted in three stages
Stage 1 It is fully digitalized school level examination in which students can use any digital device. Student can appear for this examination on mobile, tab, laptop or computers. This examination will be of two hours at school level with 100 multiple choice questions, for junior Group (Class VI to VIII) and for senior Group ( Class IX to XI).
Stage 2 Top 20 students from each state per class will qualify for state level camp. This camp will be of one to two days.
Stage 3 Top two winners from state level camp will participate in National camp
From National camp top 3 students will be selected as winner and will be awarded.
The selected students would also be exposed to the research environment in India at various top national laboratories and organisations. The last date to apply for this programme is 30th September 2018 and the examination of first level will be conducted on 25th November( Sunday) or 28th November 2018.
A special arrangement has been made for differently abled students to participate in this examination.
