Baratang, Sept 20: A team of PS Baratang today rescued a stranded fisherman of Hope Town area from Bada Balu region of Middle Andaman.
According to reports, Mr. Sahul Hamid, a fisherman from Hope Town had gone out for fishing alone, two days back in his engine dinghy. During fishing, due to bad weather he lost way and reached somewhere closed to Bada Balu area of Baratang. As his engine dinghy also developed some snags, he remained stranded in the area on his dinghy.
Somehow, getting mobile signal, Mr. Sahul Hamid informed PS Bambooflat from where an intimation was given to PS Baratang. On getting this information the team of PS Baratang, under the leadership of SHO Baratang, remained in touch with the fisherman and got his GPS location. The PS Baratang team later reached the spot where sea was rough, and somehow rescued the fisherman and also managed to save the dinghy of the fisherman.
