Port Blair, Aug 16: The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has selected JNRM as one of the Participating Institution to work for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan in the Village and Gram Panchayat level. JNRM is the only institute from Andaman and Nicobar Islands was selected by the Ministry and will develop a rapport with the village level functionaries to identify the key issues and problems. To move further the student’s team accompanied by Shri K Venkatesan, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Homescience and NODAL OFFICER for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan visited the Beodnabad Gram Panchayat for organising and witnessing the Gram Sabha Meeting on the occasion of Independence Day. SmtShanthiVaradharajan, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Beodnabad welcomed the gathering and thanked Dr N Francis Xavier, Principal, JNRM for permitting the team to work for BeodnabadPanchayat. Further she elaborated the schemes which is being implemented through various departments in this Panchayat. The various issues and problems were discussed in the meeting. Shri.S.Boominathan, Sarpanch also spoke on the occasion. The Panchayat members Shri Francis Minj, Shri Suresh and Smt Baby were also present on the occasion.
