Port Blair, July 19: The Port Blair Municipal Council has initiated massive enforcement drive on 19.07.2018, wherein PBMC removed more than two dozen road side illegal encroachments at School line, Ramakrishna mission and Junglighat.
These encroachments were in the shape of kiosks, Carts, Counters and shops. PBMC has issued repeated Public Notices to clear the public roads/pavements so that free flow of traffic and pedestrian movement shouldn’t be hampered.
Secretary, PBMC informed that the drive to remove illegal encroachments within the municipal areas has been a continuous exercise and will be continued.
Secretary, PBMC has also appealed kindly refrain from illegal encroachments especially in Lambalane area where traffic congestion might lead to delay in flights landing and subsequently inconvenience to the general public.
