Port Blair, June 25: Recently a daylight burglary case has been reported from Bamboo Flat area, which left people of nearby localities deeply worried as the area is always known to be a very peaceful place and such cases are burglary are not often witnessed.
As per report on 23rd June a daylight burglary was reported from two adjacent flats of a house, situated at Bamboo Flat area, behind SBI Bank.
According to the reports some unknown person broke inside two adjacent flats of a building and escaped with gold ornaments, cash, gas burners and also bathroom fittings.
As the case was totally clueless, the police unit of Bamboo Flat, Police station was reportedly under tremendous pressure but after thorough investigation the police team reportedly got some lead from a CCTV footage of a bar, after which the accused was identified and located.
As per detail the police team led by Head Constable Ram Nag under the Leadership of SHO PS Bamboo Flat, Inspector Girish, later identified the accused as Swaroop Mondal, a resident of Patther Gudda, Port Blair, who had earlier committed similar crimes.
Later the accused was arrested on the very next day and was produced in front of court from where he was sent to judicial custody.
According to villagers of the area detection of this case has brought a great sense of relief among the people of nearby localities.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that the accused reportedly travelled all the way to Bamboo Flat several times to conduct recce and on 23rd June after getting opportunity he broke inside both the houses and committed the crime.
