Port Blair, May 15: Mr. Krishna Halder, a resident of Bambooflat was arrested yesterday by police for attempting to murder his wife. According to reports, the accused and the victim, resident of Mathura, South Andaman, were living separately since nearly five months.
Sources said, yesterday following an argument over marriage of their son the accused lost control over his anger and attacked his wife with a Machete, which he was carrying. The marriage of their son was scheduled today.
The incident took place at Mathura village of South Andaman and while attack no gents were present nearby for help. The attacker left the place after the attack, leaving the victim in pool of blood.
As per sources, the accused chopped off the right hand of the victim and also targeted victim’s both legs, belly and other areas. Luckily the victim survived despite heavy blood loss and she was rushed to the G B Pant Hospital, where her condition is said to be critical, when last report poured in.
Sources said that the accused, Krishna Halder, nearly 55 years has been arrested by PS Bambooflat, immediately after the incident by Police team.
