Port Blair, Apr 20: The Port Blair Municipal Council under the supervision of Secretary (PBMC) has carried out an enforcement drive and removed unauthorized hoardings, banners and encroachment/obstruction in the Ratnam market and Aberdeen Bazar areas which have been hindrance for free flow of public passage and vehicle traffic movement. These encroachments were in the shape of Carts, Counters, shops and tin-sheds. Also, PBMC has penalised vendors for littering in the public places. In this regard, the Port Blair Municipal Council has already issued repeated Public Notices advising all the concerned to clear the public roads/footpaths and illegal encroachment otherwise these would be removed without any further notice at their own risk and cost.
Therefore, once again appeal is made by PBMC to all the general public to refrain from encroachments/obstruction in the public places, failing which PBMC will initiate stern action by lodging of FIR and recovery of damage charges. There will be zero tolerance towards illegal encroachments/obstruction in public places so as to ensure the safety of citizens and keep the Port Blair City a Clean, Green & Smart.
“ In case of any inconvenience to the general public regarding illegal encroachment/obstruction may pass the information to Mr S. Karthik, Revenue Officer on mobile no. 9434288777 and Landline No 03192-232701,” the release said.
