Billyground, Apr 18: On the Occasion of Akhsay Tritiya from today non stop 48 hours (16 Prahar) Sree Krishna Nam Sankirtan is being performed at Billyground Radha Govinda Temple, from today morning at 5.30 am and it will conclude on 20th April at 5.30 AM.
It is one of the biggest events of North & Middle Andaman region, this religious activity is continuously organised here in Billyground since last 54 years, on the day of Akhsay Tritiya.
During this 48 hours of Kirtan, devotees will continue chanting the mantras of “Hare Rama Hare Krshna, Kishna Krishna Hare Hare” for nonstop long 48 hours.
During this occasion thousands of devotees will reach from different part of the Andaman Islands. The committee of Radha Govinda Temple arranged bhojans i.e. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for all the devotees who have come from different parts of the Island for listening this Maha Mantras.
This year most astonishing feature of the committee is that all the responsibility of organizing and managing responsibility has been taken by the Women of Harinagar village as a token of Nari Shakti (women empowerment). Women will take care of Prasad preparation and distribution, it is learnt.
The Committee has requested all the devotees of these Islands to come to Billyground on the occasion.
