Diglipur, Apr 08: Closed ATMs of various banks in Dilgipur region has now become a constant source of frustration for people of North Andaman region. Since past few weeks people are facing tremendous problem in getting cash from ATMs, especially after banking hours.
Long queues inside and outside banks to withdraw their own money could be seen daily in Diglipur Banks, while Banks, facing cash crunch are asking public to opt NEFT and RTGS transactions.
The bank officials express their inability to do anything about it as they are reportedly not receiving adequate cash.
Public allege that even when SBI ATM is working, after banking hours the cash finishes from the ATMs within two hours.
After that cash withdrawal depends on Cash Deposit Machine at SBI. People can be seen waiting for anyone come to deposit the cash so that they can withdraw some amount.
On holidays and weekends, the people feel more frustrated with ATM’s no cash signs. Moreover big notes such as 2000 and 500 have become rare in Diglipur region as banks are giving mostly 10 and 20 rupees notes, even for the huge amount, which the customer now has carrying in bags.
Tourists and other visitors, who believe in Cashless mode, are now facing the heat heavily for not getting hard cash.
