Port Blair, April 08: A man reportedly killed his sister and critically injured his mother in a knife attack yesterday afternoon at his home situated at Sea Shore Road, Bhagat Singh Colony, Haddo. As per reports, Rama Rao aged 38 years stabbed Balamma, 34 years his Sister with a knife and after attacking her, he also attacked his mother namely Ms Janaki Amma, 55 years with the same knife and escaped.
The reason behind this step is still not clear but reliable sources in Police said that brother and sister used to live in the same house with their mother and the brother was against his sister staying in the same house, with her husband.
Sources also said that because his sister was staying in the same house his mother Ms Janaki Amma was not willing to transfer the property to her son or her daughter.
Therefore, yesterday during an argument inside the house, the accused lost his cool and attacked his sister with a Kitchen Knife and then attacked his mother who is now out of danger but still in the GB Pant Hospital for medical care.
After the matter was reported to the Police yesterday, a case of murder 302 IPC was registered against the accused, Rama Rao and he was then immediately arrested. The accused has also been produced in the court from where he has been sent to the judicial custody.
