
Port Blair, Mar 18: Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Supervisor (CSR/Marketing), Mr. Dipanjan Bandyopadhyay, Officer (CSR) and the team members from M/s Petronet LNG Ltd has donated a Mortuary Van Cost around Rs: 9.8 Lacs to the Port Blair Municipal Council for public use. The key of the vehicle handed over to Mr. I.P.Singh, Chairman, PBMC through Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament, A & N Islands in a Public function held in the premises of the Head Office of Port Blair Municipal Council on 17.03.2018.
Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. and Mr. I.P.Singh, Chairman, PBMC both have expressed their gratitude to the Petronet LNG foundation for donating a Mortuary Van for the people of this UT Islands.
During the function, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P in his speech has highlighted that the Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) is a Joint Venture of major Oil & gas Public Sector companies and is the largest importer of Liquefied Natural Gas in the Country. He further added that, there is a power crisis throughout the year in Andaman; hence the position was taken up with the Ministry of Power to mitigate the crisis. Considering the physical position of power supply in the UT of A & N Islands, the Power Ministry has accorded in principal approval for setting up of Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal (Floating Storage Regasification Unit) to fuel a 50 MW power Plant of M/s NTPC to be set up in South Andaman District shortly and he hope that after setting up of Petronet’s Floating Storage Regasification Unit and NTPC’s 50 MW Power Plant, the people of South Andaman District will benefit at large.”
