Port Blair, Mar 15: Miss. V.K. Mariyam Bibi,Zilla Parishad Member of Wimberlygunj constituency met Mr. Udit Prakash Rai, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District recently and brought to his notice the difficulties being faced by the residents of the Island especially the students due to halt on issue of Islander Identity Cards. She stated that the students are passing out Class XII Std. and moving out of the Islands for higher studies may have problem in acquiring the important document and she urged the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District to issue the document as and under the applicants approach him with valid documents.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District assured to look into the matter and restart the process of issue of Islander Identity card by the end of the current month.
