Baratang, Mar 11: Once again ATR vehicles have been targeted by Jarawa tribes. According to reports on Saturday, a private bus of Geetanjali was forcefully stopped by two Jarawa youths inside ATR after which both the Jarawa youths, who were believed to be under the influence of alcohol, reportedly created a scene inside the Bus.
As per public the Jarawa youths even abused the staffs of the bus and misbehaved with them. Later a team of Police from Middle Strait reached to the spot and brought the matter under control. The private bus Geetanjali reportedly reached Middle Strait, nearly one hour late. The reason behind such outrage of Jarawa youths is not yet known but it is believed that alcohol might be the reason behind such strange move.
Andaman and Nicobar Police have been under tremendous pressure to detect the channel via which some Jarawa youths are getting alcohol regularly.
Of late there has been tremendous change in the attitude of some Jarawa youths, who are now well known for being notorious in ATR. There were many incidents in past when some Jarawa youths have misbehaved with police Jawans and AAJVS staffs. In some incidents they have taken away bags, money and ornaments of ATR passengers forcefully.
Situation is so bad that even police jawans are finding it difficult to deal with Jarawa youths as ultimately they might fall victim of PAT regulation. There is an urgent need to study the recent change in behavior of some Jarawa youths, before they commit a major crime in ATR.
