Port Blair, Feb 26: Star runner of Andamans, Mr. K P Mammu today returned to a rousing welcome. Large number of friends, villagers, grassroot leaders, Member of Athletic Association of A & N Islands, Officers and Staffs of A & N Fire Service were present at the airport to welcome Mr. K P Mammu, who is working in A & N Fire Service.
Mr. K.P.Mammu created a New National record in 100 mtrs at the 39th National Masters Athletic Championship at Bangaluru. According to reports Mr. Mammu clocked 11.8 seconds to win this Gold medal.
He has also won silver medal in 200 mtrs category. Mr. T.K.Jijith Rekh President Athletic Association Andaman and Nicobar Islands congratulated for K P Mammu. While talking to Andaman Sheekha Mr. Jijith Rekh demanded the DGP to consider promotion for Mr. K P Mammu for making Andaman and entire Police Department proud.
