Port Blair, July 04: Lt. General (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM, Lt. Governor has enhanced the maximum age from thirty to forty years for appointment of Sarva Shiksha Contract Teachers/Block Resource Persons/Cluster Resource Persons and part time Instructors to be engaged under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in the Islands. These appointments are being made on contract basis for the academic year 2012-2013. The Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan had invited applications for these posts from candidates who are up to the age of 30 years as on 10 July 2012.
The SSCTs/BRPs/CRPs who had served in these capacities during the last academic year had met the Lt. Governor along with Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee and PRI members this morning at Raj Niwas as a large number of such appointees were being left out for consideration for this academic year. After hearing the delegation, Lt. Governor increased the upper age limit to forty years but asked them to work hard and give a good performance which will be evaluated by the Education Department. No fresh interviews will be conducted for such persons but the re-engagement will be subject to their submitting the application form and satisfactory performance during the last academics session and as per the number of vacancies.
