Port Blair, Jan 25: The Scouts & Guides Wing of Wimberlygunj Educational Zone organized an awareness Rally at GSSS,WImberlygunj on 24th January, 2018 on the theme “BetiBachao, BetiPadhao”. Mr Lucas Robert, District Chief Commissioner, BS&G/DEO, WImberlygunj who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, flagged off the rally from GSSS Wimberlygunj at 9.30 a.m and stress the importance of girl child in our family as well as the society. The rally which went through the village of Wimberlygunj, shouting the slogans written on various placards related to the themes and culminated at GMS Kanyapuram. Around 95 Scouts/Guides including Scout Masters/Guide Captains from 8 different Schools of this zone participated in the rally. Speaking on the occasion as the Guest of Mrs Rita Tiwari, Vice Principal, GSSS WImberlygunj urged the participants about the importance of girl child for the empowerment of our nation. The programme was coordinated by Mr Samir Kumar Das, District Organizer (Scout).
