Port Blair, Jan 25: Indian Coast Guard would be celebrating 41th anniversary on 01 Feb 2018. To commemorate the occasion at A & N islands, a number of events related to community service and social welfare is being organaised commencing Mid Jan 2018.
As part of Coast Guard Day Celebration activities-2018, Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, Port Blair in co-ordination with Indian Coast Guard Ship Vishwast organised a educational visit for orphanage students from Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram, Port Blair on 25 Jan 18 onboard Coast Guard Ship and MRCC.
Maiden visit by Orphanage children onboard ship ICGS Vishwast and MRCC Port Blair had provided better platform for the kids to learn from Indian Coast Guard operational capability and efficacy very closely. The children were briefed on the various role as well as capabilities of various assist and its importance in A & N Islands. The students learnt the insight of Indian Coast Guard, need of existence and responsibility in safe guarding our national interests in territorial waters and natural calamities.
Children were very motivated to serve our nation in future as “Guardians”. The visit was concluded with gift distribution to children by Mrs. E Dorothy Ravi, Vice-President, Tatrakshika(A & N).
