Port Blair, January 23: The staff and students of JNRM observed the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in a befitting manner in the Lecture Gallery of JNRM today.
Principal, JNRM Dr Francis Xavier led the students and faculty members by offering floral tributes at the portrait of Netaji. He also made a power point presentation on the Netaji museum at his birthplace in Cuttack and his visit to the Islands in 1943. Prof. Dinesh Chahal from Central University, Haryana delivered a motivational lecture to the students and exhorted them to emulate the life of Netaji.
Dr. J.N. Roychowdhury, HoD Bengali spoke on the formation of the Indian National Army by Ras Behar Bose and how Netaji shaped it into a fighting force during WW II. Dr Chandradeep Singh, HoD History spoke about the Mutiny of the Naval ratings in Bombay which was influenced by Netaji and the INA and hastened the departure of the British from India.
