Port Blair, Jan 18: The Bambooflat Jetty area, which used to look like a grubby unorganized remote place just a few months back now wears a clean and organized look.
Several media units in past had reported about the traffic chaos at Bambooflat Jetty, which used to be an unpleasant experience for commuters, especially visiting tourists, who used to cross Bambooflat Junction for Mount Harriet Tour.
As earlier there was no restriction on haphazard parking just infornt of the gate of Bambooflat jetty the area used to look too crowded.
Residents of the area told Andaman Sheekha that after the Police team of PS Bambooflat recently intervened into this matter, things have really changed for good.
As per report the team of PS Bambooflat with the help of some PRI members of the area has now created a separate parking area, where people of Bambooflat and adjoining areas, can park their vehicles while going towards Port Blair, which has helped in keeping the Jetty area free from traffic.
Although shop owners of the area alleged that they are suffering loss as vehicles are not allowed to haphazardly parked infront of the gate of Bambooflat Jetty and customers are not coming to their shops but for most of the people getting the Jetty area free from traffic is a great relief. Talking to Andaman Sheekha many residents of the area have lauded the efforts of PS Bambooflat to take such positive initiative.
