Diglipur, Jan 15: Sankranti also known as Poush Sankranti is celebrated as a harvest festival Poush Parbon celebrated by Bengalis at Diglipur befittingly. The freshly harvested paddy, Gur and Pitha were prepared in the households.
In the villages,villagers performed puja near the river banks. Big crocodile idol was prepared using the soil and puja was performed. Large number of villagers gathers and took part in these rituals then Prasad and khichdi were distributed.
