Mayabunder, Dec 28: Exactly one month back the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands had inaugurated the new building of North and Middle Andaman’s DC office at Lucknow, Mayabuder but sadly even after 30 days of inauguration the District Administration of N & M Andaman has taken any visible step to shift the DC office to the new building.
Such careless attitude of N & M DC office is causing huge harassment to general public as most of the other important offices like SP Office, Tehsilder Office, Zilla Parishad building and Court building have already moved to Lucknow area of Mayabunder region.
As the DC office is still functioning from Mayabunder Bazaar area now for most of the small and big works, public has to run from DC office to Tehsil office, which are nearly 5 to 6 KM away. Moreover due to lack of any bus service one has to heavily depend on private Jeeps to shuttle between Tehsil office and DC office, which wastes complete day of public.
Public wants to know why the office has not been shifted even after formal inauguration. Is it because of any major construction fault or because some top officers are too much dependent on astrologers and are waiting for a good date.
Now the residents of the area are demanding the top bosses of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration to come for the rescue of the newly constructed building otherwise this one month will convert to a year and the process of shifting would never be completed and finally all electronic and electric items of the building will be stolen, as it happened in case of Karmatang Guest House of Mayabunder.
Andaman Sheekha tried to contact the DC, North & Middle Andaman over phone but someone else picked up the call and replied that “Madam is busy” and disconnected the call.
