Port Blair, Dec 20: A fire was reported on 20th December at Port Mout around 1925 hrs. The fire was reported from the roof of Govt. Primary School, Port Mout where the dry leaves were present all over the roof.
Just 02 metre above the roof of the Primary school, there are live electric line and due to the prevailing heavy winds a short circuit occurred leading to sparks, which inturn caused the fire.
As soon as the matter was communicated to Fire Services, 01 water bowser from Aberdeen, 02 Fire tenders including one from Garacharma and 01 from Ferrargunj were sent for the control of fire. Within no time the fire tenders reached the spot and doused the fire very promptly. No loss of life and property has been reported.
