Mayabunder, Dec 19: One person drowned at Mayabunder jetty today evening at around 5 PM. The person has been identified as Pyare lal (36) s/o Brij Lall r/o Pokadera, Mayabunder. It is learnt that the deceased was accompanied by one person and was returning back in a wooden dhingy from Stewart Island and berthed at Mayabunder jetty.
After berthing when one of them look behind for the other, he found the slippers of Pyare Lal were floating on the water surface at jetty. Soon divers were informed about the incident but after evening the search was discontinued. It is also learnt that the deceased was under the influence of alcohol. Further details are awaited.
