Port Blair, Dec 19: After the distribution of LED bulbs in the city around 6 percentage of power consumption is being reduced in the city and a difference of around 600-700 KW is seen after this implementation.
Addressing a press conference at the Megapode Nest Resort today at 04:30pm, the Power Secretary, Mr Sanjeev Khirwar said that replacing the Street Lights with LED Street Lights has proved very fruitful in urban areas and thus the Power Department has also started putting efforts to place LED Lights in the rural areas adjoining Port Blair City.
“We are also trying to replace the High Mast Lights with LED Lights in the Port areas and in this regard talks are already on with a company called ESL,” said Mr Khirwar.
