Diglipur, Dec 16: An unsuccessful break of ATM attempted by the accused Tanmoy Mazumder on 2nd Dec at SBI Diglipur in which the CDM machine was damaged.
The CCTV captured the image of the accused that entered the ATM wearing the helmet and raincoat after midnight. As per reports the police identified that the helmet was Aaron make and another mark was also inscribed on the helmet. Apart from this the police had no clue about the theft.
On this information a Home Guard of PS Diglipur zeroed on a person at new vegetable market on 9th Dec with a helmet with the same details. The local public near the vegetable market informed the Andaman Sheekha that immediately he intimated the matter to a nearby police constable.
After that both the Home guard and the Police constable enquired that person. They also found a raincoat in his backpack bag. After that accused was brought to PS Diglipur, where he confessed the crime.
The alertness of that home guard is appreciated. It is also learnt that the accused was supposed to clear an amount of Rs. 50,000/- to a local bakery owner which was the reason behind this theft.
Meanwhile the ATM room is kept locked by the SBI authorities and sources said that it will take three more months to reinstate the Machine.
