Port Blair, Dec.12: The Directorate of Tourism, A&N Administration had initiated the process of preparing annual calendar of all important Tourism Fairs & Festivals organized by the Directorate in these islands, which would enable Tourist/Islanders to include them in their itinerary and help in attracting more tourists, both international and domestic. Accordingly, a new schedule of Annual Tourism Festivals has been prepared considering the CBSE Board Examination, peak tourists and raining season in these Islands. The new schedule of annual tourism festivals has been communicated to Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, New Delhi for inclusion in their Annual Calendar, so that vide publicity is given throughout the country.
As per the new schedule, ‘Beach Festival’ will now be held in the month of January and ‘Island Tourism Festival’ will be held in the month of April every year. Similarly the ‘Monsoon Festival’ and ‘Food Festival’ will be held in the month of July and September respectively.
