Port Blair, Dec 10: The Annual Day Function of Navy Children School, Port Blair aptly named ‘Melange’ was held at DBRAIT Auditorium on 08 Dec 17. The function was inaugurated by Cmde Ashutosh Ridhorkar, Vice Chairman, NCS by lighting the lamp. The Principal Mrs Anita Devi, welcomed the audience and enunciated the major achievements of the school in the academic year along with technical upgradations carried out this year. The event showcased 450 students performing on themes like cultural diversity of India, women empowerment, patriotism and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Mrs Smita Ridhorkar, President NWWA felicitated Ms Saniya Subash of Std. X with a momento and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/- for her various achievements throughout the year. She received the National Child Award for exceptional achievement from Honorable President of India, at Rastrapati Bhavan and is also a recipient of Lt Governor’s Andaman and Nicobar commendation. Apart from these, Ms Saniya Subash won medals at both National and International levels in Squash, Martial Art and Chess.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and congratulated the teachers and students for their superlative performance, team work and vibrancy. Mrs Sandhya Lal, Senior Co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks. The event culminated with rendition of the National Anthem.
