Port Blair, Dec 05: The case of misappropriation in Gold loan in Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank has taken everyone by surprise.
Following nearly four complaints lodged by the Bank and registration of one FIR against the Loan borrowers and Authorized Appraiser of the bank, now the police department is investigating the matter deeply and collecting all possible evidences.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that till now a little more than 100 such cases have been detected where the person mortgaging the gold in bank had submitted gold of inappropriate quality and the same has been declared appropriate by the Authorized Appraiser of the bank.
Meanwhile it is learnt that during investigation police team is getting more and more evidences against the son of Authorized Appraiser, the prime accused, who is in Mainland at present.
Senior officer of Police Department, who does not want his name to be quoted, told Andaman Sheekha that in this case it appears that there is no involvement of anyone from the Managing body of the bank as they hardly have any role in execution and day to day activities of the bank.
At presently most the borrowers are pointing finger towards the main accused who is the son of Authorized Appraiser of the Bank.
