Port Blair, Nov 24: Mushrooming business of unorganised and unplanned plotting in an around the South Andaman region is posing a serious threat to the Public convenience in the near future.
The Plotters who sell a huge piece of land to a lot of people through plotting don’t even develop the land before selling. The plotters neither leave proper space for the road nor any exit road in the land. Most of the plotters also don’t leave any space for construction of drain.
The unorganised and unplanned plotting, done in the past always remain in chaos and also in a bit of rain are seen flooded.
General Public now demand the Revenue Department to immediately come up with some instructions to the plotters so that the beauty of the islands may not get disturbed because of the unplanned and unorganised plotting.
Speaking to Andaman Sheekha today, the State General Secretary, Telugu Desham Party, Mr Aziz-Ur-Rehman said that many of the land plotted recently don’t even have an exit gate neither they have a road or footpath of proper width so that in case of emergency an Ambulance or a Fire Tender can enter inside the area.
“Atleast some of these basic and important requirements should be checked by the authorities before they allow the plotter to sell the land so that the people may feel secure all the time,” Mr Rehman said.
Further talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Senior Leader of Congress Party, Mr Noor Islam said that not leaving a space for the drain area in the land, may become a major issue in the near future because there won’t be any outlet for the Septic Tank. “I have being to mainland many a times and this is now a major issue there, the Administration or the Revenue Department must put some efforts to amend the law of Land Regulation in the Islands, so that the beauty here, may be protected,” said Mr Islam.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Mr Udit Prakash Rai he said that the plotting system of mainland and in the Islands is totally different, he said that the plotting done in the mainland are by the Builders etc. who properly develops the area before selling but here an individual sells his huge Agriculture Land to a particular plotter, the plotter then converts it, and sells the piece of land to many, he then applies for the sub-division.
“In Andaman if all the registered owners of the land agrees for the sub-division and applies for it, then we have to do it, there is no such law in the Land Regulation Act using which we can deny the sub-division,” said Mr Udit.
