Port Blair, Nov 24: On 19/11/17, at 1930 hrs, information was received at PS Pahargaon about gambling at Garacharma Village. A team of police personnel comprising Insp. Sahil Shamsuddin, HC/P. Babu Rao, PC/Bhaskar Rao, PC/R.S. Rakesh & PC/S. Pathak, PC/Emamuddin Khan immediately swung into action and apprehended 08 gamblers from the spot namely (1) Prabash Bepari, (2) Subhasis Ghosh, (3) BK Mondal, (4) Bolanath Majumdaar, (5) Deepak Shana, (6) Rashid Ali Sardar, (7) P Srihari and (8) A Gopal Mondal and recovered playing cards along with cash Rs. 84530/-.
All the above accused persons have been booked under relevant provisions of A&N Gambling Regulation 1956.
The general public is requested to pass on any credible information pertaining to illegal activities in the area on following Nos. 100 (PCR) or respective Police Station on 03192-232400 (PS Aberdeen), 250525 (PS Pahargaon), 232232 (PS Chatham), 258411 (PS Bamboo Flat), 224934 (PS Ograbraj), 287590 (PS Humfrygunj), 282405 (PS Havelock), 284208 (PS Hut Bay) and 282602 (PS Neil Island). Identity of the informer will be kept secret.
