The announcement started couple of days back through auto rickshaws till late night even in remotest villages of North Andaman. Hearing this many people who didn’t construct toilet block in their houses have started constructing now, following which now the Diglipur market is facing severe shortage of Toilet Pans.
As per the reports now not even a single Toilet pan is available in Diglipur bazaar. People can be seen roaming in search of pan from shops to shops. The rate of the pan has sky rocketed since the announcement.
Rs. 750/- pan is now available at Rs.1200/- and Rs. 1180/- pan is available at Rs. 1600/. Many beneficiaries who have already received money for construction of toilet through Gram Panchayat are more frightened now who are yet to start the construction. As per the shop keepers the pans might now be available within fortnight only. Since then the search for pan seems to be inevitable for the common man.
