Port Blair, Nov 15: A case of POCSO has been registered yesterday against two Teachers of a government school of Haddo in the Chatham Police Unit for sexually molesting a 15 and 12 year old minor girl students of the school.
As per reports, the entire matter came into light when the NGO PRAYAS received some information from the school. As soon as the NGO PRAYAS got the hints the team of NGO immediately conducted an awareness campaign in the School around one and a half month ago, following which some of the students came forward complaining about two teachers of the aforesaid school.
During the awareness campaign ‘Komal’ a movie about Good Touch and Bad Touch was also shown to the students.
When the NGO received complaint about the teachers, they then submitted a report to the Child Welfare Commission as the matter was very serious following which the CWC also ordered the Superintendent of Police, South Andaman and the Secretary Education to investigate the matter.
Yesterday during the investigation some 6-7 students came forward to give the statement but finally only two minor girls registered the complaint against the teachers. Both the complainants also gave their complaint in written, it is learnt.
