Port Blair, Oct 29: Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY) under the aegis of Head Quarters, Andaman and Nicobar Command (HQANC) organised a blood donation camp on 27th October 2017 as a part of 44th Raising Day celebrations of NSRY.
The camp organised in collaboration with GB Pant Hospital and was inaugurated by Mrs Anita Goswami, wife of Commodore DK Goswami, Commodore Superintendent of Yard.
A total of 49 units of blood units were collected by a group of Doctors and Technicians headed by Dr. M Joy, Project Director, Andaman and Nicobar AIDS Control Society. Brigadier SY Deshmukh, Chief Staff Officer (Technical) of Andaman and Nicobar Command, Commodore DK Goswami, Commodore Superintendent of Yard, officers, sailors and civilian employees including ladies from various establishments of the Command donated blood for the noble cause. All the donors were issued certificates by GB Pant Hospital.
