Port Blair, Oct 10: On 01/10/2017 on receipt of information from reliable sources regarding gambling, SI Aditya Narayan, SHO PS Mayabunder along with police party consisting of Sis P.R. Shain Nair, G.K. Murthy, HC Mohd Zakiriya, PCs Arun Kerketta, Basharat Ali, Kamlesh Yadav, A. K. Singh and Phoebe conducted raid behind a Govt. Quarters near Murgan Temple, Mayabunder and arrested 09 persons namely (1) Laxmi Narayan (2) Mohammed Safique(3) Mohammed Ismail, (4) K. Shanmugam(5)Raju (6) Proshanta Biswas (7) Bipul Mondal (8) K. Trimuruthulu and (9) Thompson and recovered an amount of Rs.65,480/- including personal search money of Rs.12,030/- and playing cards. They were challaned under Gambling Regulation.
