Port Blair, June 26: Over 300 Naval NCC Cadets including girls from various Islands spread the message on ill effects of tobacco and drug abuse on 26 Jun 2012 . The rally was flagged off by SLt (ANO) Dr. Satyam Setia at 0730 hrs at NU NCC office, Junglighat. While addressing the cadets he told them that it is very easy to adopt the bad habits of using Tobacco and Drug abuse but it is very difficult to get rid of it. He urged them to guard against indulging into such habits. He also told them that they being NCC cadets should help the society in getting rid of such social evils. He further advised that a healthy society gives rise to a healthy nation. The staff and the cadets also took an oath to build a healthy and drugs free society and contribute in making the Nation strong.
The Cadets shouted slogan against the use of tobacco and drug abuse. They carried banners, placards, boards etc. Which displayed slogan discouraging the use of tobacco and drugs. They marched through populated areas of Port Blair to bring about the awareness.
The rally was coordinated by Pradeep Kumar, CI; Anil Kumar, SO; and refreshment was provided by Ratan Jha, PO; Kali Charan, PO; Nawin Kumar, PO and Roshan Kumar, LSA.
The Officiating Commanding Officer, SLt (ANO) Dr. Satyam Setia lauded the traffic arrangement provided by the A & N Police. A communication received said.
