Port Blair, Oct 01: In order to upgrade vocational skills of rural young women & men and to enable them to supplement their family income as well as enhancing their self esteem in the society the Nehru Yuva Kendra Rangat in collaboration with Voice of Compassion to India (NGO), Rangat organized two Skill up gradation Training Programmes for three months from 01/10/2017 to 31/12/2017 in the trade of Coir Handicraft and Basic Computer fundamental course at Community Hall, Long Island in which 50 youths are participating in the both trainings.
In the inaugural function held on 01/10/2017 Shri B. Kamraju, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Long Island was the chief guest and he inaugurated the both trainings by lighting the lamp alongwith other resource person Shri Anthony Jesu Raja, Nursing Officer, PHC, Long Island. Under the Swachhta Hi Seva Abhiyan a speech about Hand washing and Open Deification was also delivered by Shri Anthony Jesu Raja, Nursing Officer, PHC, Long Island on the occasion.
The chief guest in his speech urged youths to optimize use the trainings for their better furture. Highlighting the facilities given by Govt. of India for construction of toilet he stressed to construct toilet at their house for open deification free village. On the occasion new Mahila Mondal named Dweep Mahila Mondal. Long Island was also formed under the chairmanship of Pradhan, GP, Long Island and formation process was facilitated by Miss Parya Minj, Ex National Youth Volunteer. At the end Shri Alphonce Toppo, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Rangat proposed vote of thanks.
