Port Blair, June 25: Andaman boy Akash Adhikari, resident of Austinabad is all set to become first Islander to work in a Bangla movie in lead role. Akash’s movie ‘Phoring’ will be released soon in Kolkata.
The script is by Sugoto Sinha and Indranil, and the cast includes Ritwick Chakraborty, Dwijen Bandopadhyaya, Shankar Debnath and Sohini Sarkar, the lead actress among others.
A relationship story, the film revolves around Doel (Sohini), a school teacher, and her student, Phoring (Akash). “Doel comes to North Bengal as a teacher and meets Phoring, who belongs to a needy family and doesn’t have any interest in studies. Eventually, the two become friends and later, Doel becomes his obsession. The film shows how Phoring’s life takes a turn when Doel leaves her job and comes back.
