Port Blair, September 19: The All Party Meeting called by the Telugu Desam Party, Andaman & Nicobar Islands today at the Andhra Association Hall at 04:00 pm was attended by all the active Parties in the Island except Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). As per reports, all the Political Parties have agreed to support the agenda discussed in the meeting.
The discussion started with the recent arrests of 11 youths of the Island by the Police for participating in the protest against the Power Crisis, which according to all parties was an injustice and are going to demand the administration to withdraw all the criminal and other charges imposed on them.
The matter further discussed was about the Bad Roads in the entire islands which too was agreed by all the parties.
The Political Parties joined the meeting further discussed about the proposed Solar Power Plant which according to them is not feasible and they have now decided to demand the administration to go for DG sets but not Solar Power Plant.
All Political Parties also decided to demand the administration to remove self marking system.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mrs Protima Banerjee of Telugu Desam Party said that all the issues discussed today were agreed by all the Political Parties and all have agreed to support.
“The minutes of the meeting will be prepared tomorrow and after the signature of the President of all political parties it will be submitted to the administration that they are against their views of aforesaid issues and a copy of the minutes of the meeting will also be sent to the Ministry,” Mrs Protima added.
