Port Blair, Sep 19: In different functions held in various wards of the Municipal Council, the Port Blair Municipal Council on 18.09.2017 inaugurated Library-cum-Office building at Prem Nagar, W.No:7. In the same ward a newly extended fuel shed and corpse platform, pyre shed of PBMC was also inaugurated at Junglighat graveyard which was a long felt demand of the general public who attends the burial ground to pay the last rites to their loved ones. Both the assets were inaugurated by Shri B. On 19.09.2017, at about 10.30 am in a simple function, the re-developed Tiranga Park at Aberdeen Bazaar, Ward No:5 was inaugurated by Shri B.Eswar Rao, Chairperson, PBMC in the presence of Smti S.Selvi, Ward Councillor. The Secretary, PBMC, other Councillors, Officers and officials of the Council were also attended the inaugural function. A newly constructed stage at Haddo, Ward No:2 was also inaugurated by the Civic chief on today the 19th September,2017 in the presence of Shri R.Someshwar Rao, Ward Councillor. The function was also attended by the Secretary, PBMC, other Councillors, Officers and officials of the Council. Development of a stage was a long pending demand of local populace of sunder colony, Haddo. The stage can be used for public meetings, simple family functions, poojas etc. In an another function held at Garacharama, Ward No:18 foundation stone was laid for development of Hindu, Christian and Bahai Graveyard which includes construction of burning shed, body shed, waiting shed, timber shed, elevated water tank, toilet block, septic tank, footpath, gate, benches, PCC wall, parking area and RCC railing pillar for the localities of whole Garacharama area. The foundation was laid by Shri B.Eswar Rao, Chairperson, PBMC in the presence of Smti Rubana Aziz, Councillor, Ward No:18, Secretary, PBMC, other Councillors, officers and officials of the Council.
