Port Blair, September 17: A seaman namely, Sameer Khan reportedly attacked a CISF Jawan this afternoon following some heated argument at Phoneix Bay Jetty near Checking area.
Sources in the Jetty told Andaman Sheekha that the Seaman was first attacked by 2-3 CISF Jawans following some arguments related to Gate Pass today at 02:00 to 02:30pm, fuming over this manhandling, the Seaman went to his vessel MV North Passage and took out a knife and came back to the Security Checking area of the Jetty and attacked one of the CISF Jawans, on the left side of his Neck.
As per sources, the CISF Jawan suffered major injuries on the left side of his neck in the attack. The injured CISF Jawan was immediately rushed to the GB Pant Hospital and he is now admitted in the ICU.
High security was also deployed in the GB Pant Hospital by Police Department today. Attempt to Murder case has been registered in the Aberdeen Police Station and the accused Seaman is also arrested by the Police. Further, details in this regard are awaited.
