Port Blair, Aug 30: 01 person has been apprehended after seizure of 195 kgs of venison from his possession from Guptapara by a team of PS Humfrigunj on 27/08/2017.
On receipt of credible information that one person will be transporting venison at Line Dera, Guptapara, a police team led by Inspector K. Binoj, SHO PS Humfrigunj along with SI G.N Murthy, PC/1588 Gourango Pandey, PC/2870 Pranab Karmakar, PC/1844 Nelson Kindo, and HG/403 Girender Lall reached the spot and prepared themselves for a raid. They found that one dinghy boarded by 01 person reached near the sea shore. Immediately the police team raided and recovered 185 Nos. polythene packets (in five plastic bags) weighing 195 Kgs which was seized on the spot. On enquiring, he failed to produce any valid documents/permit to carry the above venison. Later the accused and seized venison was handed over to the Range Officer, MGMNP, Wandoor for further necessary action. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri. M. A Naushad, SDPO (B/Flat).
